Baiyangdian-homeland of Wild Goose's Feather Army
 Baiyangdian Lake was called before Xidian Lake. It is under the jurisdiction of five counties (Anxin, wuqiu, Gaoyang, Xiongxian and Rongcheng) in Hebei Province. The lake area covers 500km2 encircled by dams. A crisscross network of 3700 ditches cut the lake into 143 smaller ones, resulting in a much more complicated terrain. This is a land of water with large lakes embedded with small ones and connected with each other by irrigation canals and ditches.
For a long time, sands have been deposited on the riverbed of ancient Baiyangdian Lake. After disintegration, the remaining part formed the present lake in a low-lying ground.
The lake with its complicated typography became the homeland of an anti-Japanese army called the Team of Goose Plume, who made numerous military successes in the network of plain and lakes. The stories of some famous films occurred in this area, for example, the New Story of Heroes and Heroines, the Little Soldier Zhangga.
Baiyangdian Lake is a natural tourist destination because of its vast waters, rich specialties, beautiful scenery and fine weather.
In spring, when the weed germinates, the land turns green.
In summer, the weed sways in wind and lotus blossoms.
In autumn, the weed flowers fly and paddies send out sweet scent.
In winter, the whole land freezes like a crystal jade.
According to "Annals of Anzhou", there are eight spots of Ruyang here in the lake area. They are Spring Outing in Yunjing, Looking Afar from Qiyun, Anchoring in Shijiu, Angling in Baiyang, Flying Willow Catkins, Withering Flowers in Pukou, Moon on the Baiqiao Bridge, and Autumn Blow in Yishui.
